Minnesota Library Association Conference 2016 was certainly another learning experience. Celebrating 125 years of librarian history and looking forward to the future of librarianship and library services to the citizens of Minnesota is a good theme to always challenge the library community to provide services. Attending sessions “Deep Dive into Digital Content” and “Coding Camp” [...]
Duluth was a wonderful venue for M.L.A. last week! We enjoyed the colors of the changing leaves while driving there. The sessions are always informative and sharing ideas with our colleagues is one of the most important benefits. The first session I attended was Sustainable Social Media for Libraries. It is critical for libraries to be [...]
The Minnesota Library Association Conference is something I look forward to attending every year. I enjoyed the beautiful drive to Duluth and the wonderful opportunity to attend great sessions as well as to network with other library professionals. Conference highlights: "Transforming Lives: Addressing the Diverse Needs of Our Communities" was an incredible session. Each one of us [...]
I enjoyed the conference very much. I attended a few different sessions and found that I still like the book talks -(50 books in 60 min) I attended both the fiction and non fiction sessions. I also attended the session on MNLink which was very informative.
I haven't attended MLA in a number of years and was happy to be back!I attended many interesting programs. I am starting a book club at my library this month, so I attended the program on launching a book club for seniors -- it was interesting to hear perspectives on things to do (and not [...]
I was sick throughout the conference and had difficulty hearing speakers. I also left several sessions early because my cough was a distraction for others. As a result, I gained far less from the event than I might have.I did work two two-hour sessions on the registration desk. I've always enjoyed this work because it [...]
This camp was the most enjoyable camp I have been to in the past 3 years. I think it was because it seemed very 'laid back' and easy going. Nothing seemed rushed and the atmosphere was relaxing. The speakers were thorough about what the day would entail and when we would do things, and again, [...]
This was my first time attending Camp Read-a-Lot and I went away with many new books and ideas to share with my students. I attended both days, but only reported on books for the Early Literacy Book List. It was great receiving clock hours for licensure! I had not seen Lauren Stringer or Laura Salas [...]
This year I did not submit any books that I read but I still got a lot out of the conference. I have started using some poetry after listening to Laura talk about poetry and children. It was something I had never tried and have been enjoying it. I always enjoy talking books with other [...]
This was my first year attending Camp Read-A-Lot and it was a great experience. I went to the Early Reader day. Laura Purdie Salas was an interesting and engaging speaker. Her poetry activities in the afternoon gave me some new ideas for future library programming. The picture book reading list has been an excellent resource. [...]
