The Minnesota Library Association Conference is something I look forward to attending every year. I enjoyed the beautiful drive to Duluth and the wonderful opportunity to attend great sessions as well as to network with other library professionals.
Conference highlights:
“Transforming Lives: Addressing the Diverse Needs of Our Communities” was an incredible session. Each one of us that works in a public library currently have people in our libraries with various forms of need. We all do what we can to help, but Ramsey County is really doing something about it. Great job Ramsey County!
“Marketing Magic: Top Tips and Tricks for Marketing Your Library” was exactly what I was looking for. I needed a huge boost, maybe in confidence of my marketing skills, maybe what I was missing in what I was doing, and YES I found out things that I wasn’t even thinking I was missing. I walked away from this session empowered. I have already created a logo for our library to use on all our publications…branding the Appleton Public Library!
“50 in 60 Book Blast-Fiction”-I really enjoyed how they switched this up a bit this year. Giving us ideas and clues of some really great books by genre of Spooky Books, Out of Africa: Authors born in (or with strong ties to) Africa, Judging A Book by Its Cover, and Austenesque. I may simply of overlooked some of these books without this great opportunity to get a fresh perspective.
Thank YOU SAMMIE for this wonderful opportunity!
