I attended the MLA Conference in Rochester, MN on Oct. 24, 2024. I had the opportunity to drive to the conference with the other media specialist in our district which enabled us a significant amount of time to collaborate with each other before, during and after the conference. The keynote speaker, Mychael Treets, was an excellent inspirational speaker. His experiences and real-life struggles made his message personal. I acquired and shared new ideas from the breakout session about I Love to Read Month. I didn’t find as many breakout sessions that applied to my elementary library position. This year I connected more with several media staff and shared library experiences with them.
