Romance GenreCon was an excellent opportunity for me to dig deeper into the world of romance books and how to cultivate a good community around the genre for our patrons that are interested the genre. The different sessions that I attended gave me ideas on how to form things like a Romance Book Club, a Newsletter for said book club or even our library in general as well as authors to look into adding to our circulation for our patrons. The chance to talk to a wide range of people who participate in the world of romance; from authors, readers, and librarians, allowed me to see the genre in a different and enlightening way. I look forward to using some of the ideas I took away from the sessions and utilizing them in new ways as well as honing aspects I am already using in our library.
