I was so happy to have the opportunity to attend Camp Read in person this year. The space in Marshall was very comfortable and met our needs quite nicely. The keynote speaker, Dr. Harris, started the event with enthusiasm and encouragement, challenging us to consider our biases and judgements. She shared one of her middle school historical books published as an eBook, and I was really impressed with the format and information this provided. I always enjoy time in small groups to talk about the books we read and ideas for me to ponder for my own library. This year I’m focusing on diversity of languages and I now have several good sources for ideas of books to purchase.
