I attended the Summer Reading Resource Fair @ the St. Cloud Public Library on Friday, December 9. It was a nice "kick-off" to the upcoming 2017 summer library program. It helped get me excited and motivated to begin plans for next summer's program. St. Cloud Public Library staff did a nice job of hosting this [...]

The 2016 ARSL (Association for Rural and Small Libraries) was held in Fargo, ND this year. What a wonderful conference! This is my all-time favorite to attend. Lots of great information and the best is networking with other librarians experiencing the same thing you are. They understand exactly what you are dealing with and are [...]
I highly recommend attending the ARSL conference the next time it returns to the Midwest. LIbrarians from 40+ states spent 3 days learning from experts, including each other. I'm grateful to SAMMIE and our library Board for the opportunity! If anyone wants more info on any of these topics, I have a lot of notes! [...]
I had the fantastic opportunity to attend the 2016 ARSL [Association of Rural and Small Libraries] conference in Fargo, ND, with several of my colleagues. Next year the conference will be held in Utah; sadly, not nearly so accessible from SW Minnesota ...Slides and resources from the sessions will be available on the ARSL website [...]
Thank you to SAMMIE for this great opportunity to attend the National ASRL Conference in Fargo. In three days at the Association of Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL) Conference in Fargo, ND, I attended break-out sessions with subjects that varied from library programming suggestions to new book titles for children and teens, from tech issues and medical reference to intellectual freedom and diversity in our libraries, from keeping our patrons and [...]
Wow! What a great informative and fun conference this was to attend. I enjoyed meeting so many different librarians from different states and learning some of their ideas for kids programs, adult programs and teen/tween programs. Even things such as how they do their weeding that may make a difference for the way I may [...]
I had an Awesome time at this years conference! We drove to Convington, KY and the leaves were in full color! The conference started on Wednesday at 7:30AM and ended at 8:30PM that first night. I can say we had a jam packed Thursday as well, and were done on Friday at 2PM. There were [...]
It was another great conference in 2016! The conference marked our 10th Anniversary! In the beginning both the ARSL and ABOS had joint conferences together. I have made it to all but two conferences since starting this job in 1999! In the ten years of attending I have watched the changes in library and outreach [...]
