This year’s Teen Summit was a fun event. It started with Lunch, which was pizza, cookies and carrot cake. Lunch was followed by a presentation about teen non-fiction. Some of the books that where highlighted are; Fatal Fever: Tracking down Typhoid Mary by Gail Jarrow, The case of the Vanishing little brown bats: a Scientific Mystery by Sandra Markle, Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens speak out by Susan Kuklin and They called themselves the K.K.K: The birth of an American Terrorist Group by Susan Campbell Bartoletti. We had a small break, which was followed a talk about a Summer Reading Interactive program Option. Our second presentation was about Teen Fiction and a few of the books that where talked about were Flutter: Hell can wait by Jennie Wood, Prez by Mark Russell, and The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye. We were than taught how to play three different games. The games are The Sheriff of Nottingham; an exciting game of bluffing, bribery and smuggling. The Grizzled, which is a cooperative game about survival in the trenches during the First World War where players win or lose together, and Pandemic. The goal of Pandemic is for the players to work cooperatively to stop the spread of four diseases and cure them before a pandemic occurs.
