An excellent chance to hear new ideas and exchange information with librarians and staff from other libraries. All of the session speakers and the Friday keynote speaker had either good information or thought and idea provoking presentations. I would, however, like to see more sessions geared towards small and rural libraries in the future. They make up a large percentage of Minnesota’s libraries, but the majority of sessions this year once again had ideas geared towards large institutions. I would encourage MLA to seek out more presenters from small/rural libraries to share their ideas.
The event was also well organized, aside from a few last minute changes in session locations that caused confusion for those who didn’t have or were unable to use the digital schedule. An impressive example of what a volunteer group can accomplish.
Overall a very worthwhile learning experience.
