Youth Work Matters!
Prairielands is offering library staff working with teens the opportunity to participate in the University of Minnesota Extension online course, Youth Work Matters!   
From the UM Extension site:  Youth Work Matters is for people who work with or on behalf of youth. Participants explore the foundations, research and theories of positive youth development as they take an in-depth look at three aspects of youth work:  The Field of Youth Development (Modules 1 and 2) How to Support Youth Needs (Modules 3 and 4) Your Role as a Youth Worker (Module 5) The four-week class runs from Monday, February 7, 2022 – Monday, March 7, 2022 and includes weekly webinars. Participants will join a cohort of people working with youth in various settings. Prairielands will host a wrap-up in March for Pioneerland area libraries and for Plum Creek area libraries, details tba.   How to register for the Teen Summit and for Youth Work Matters.

Register with Prairielands to be part of the Teen Summit cohort. You must register with us to be reimbursed for your UMN Extension registration fee (a reimbursement form will be sent after registration).

Register with the U of MN Extension to be part of the online course – Apply the discount code is GROUPREG (all caps) for reduced rate of $75. 

After completing the course, send a copy of your registration receipt along with a reimbursement form to Prairielands to receive reimbursement.
