It was such a pleasure to attend an in-person conference! Librarians and media specialists gathered from around the state, though primarily attendees were from the Twin Cities. I enjoyed time connecting with vendors from book distribution and publishing companies, authors and librarians. I attended two workshops on the topic of organizing school libraries by genre. I appreciated that both presenters were actively involved in changing their library space and they were both sensitive to the needs of their patrons. One has even stopped using the Dewey system all together. It’s a bold move, but I’m quite interested in making these changes in my own libraries so I was happy this topic was presented twice during the day. The keynote speaker was interesting and inspirational and the facilities were comfortable.
