I had the privilege of attending the 2019 SRP Resource Fair at the Great River Regional Library in St. Cloud on November 2, 2018. Being a new children’s librarian this was very informational and fun for me! I got to meet new people within the Pioneerland library system as well as other libraries, which is a great way to network with others. Our time there was broken up into 3 sections: early literacy/pre-readers, school age/tween, and teens/adults. Each section gave us fun ideas for activities and how we can get the children excited and involved in reading. I feel like the theme ‘It’s Showtime at Your Library’ will be a fun first time reading program for me! I already have many great ideas and cannot wait to implement them.
